Not only is it incredibly simple and quick to make, it’s a satisfying, warming taste of home. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or even as a quick no-fuss supper, this twist on cheese on toast makes for a savoury treat any time of the day.

Personalise your cheese on toast!

If looking to lower the carbs further, you could leave out the softened onions and add a handful of chopped chives instead. For additional protein, a little chopped ham would be a perfect match. Alternatively take the recipe in a totally different direction – stir through some salsa with the cheese or melt the the cheese over some smashed avocado (always a winner for us low carb lovers). Instructions

  1. Fry the sliced onion in a little oil over a medium heat until soft.
  2. Once cooked, combine the onion with the cheese, milk, worcester sauce, egg yolk and mustard in a bowl.
  3. Under a grill, toast one side of your Heylo Seeded Artisan Bread. Then turn and add the cheese mixture and grill until the cheese mix is golden and bubbling. Serve au natural or alongside a simple salad.
