Low Carb Chicken Burgers - A Keto-Friendly Fast Food Treat!
Chicken burgers are an occasional treat for many - especially those not following low carb diets. Sometimes the lure of the take away is just too much! But for low-carb dieters themselves, the coatings and the breads pretty much keep this off the menu for good.
Enter Heylo! Using ourLow carb white bread as the crumb coating for your chicken and serving in one of our Heylo rolls, you can enjoy authentic takeaway flavours on a low carb diet. The difference will be this, despite amazing taste, you'll be eating something low carb, high protein, high fibre and free from nasty oils and other such things associated with the takeaway.
Ingredients

A few slices of Heylo Lighter white, blitzed into crumbs (freeze and save any unused crumbs)
- Half a chicken breast
- 1 tablespoon Mayo
- 1 Dessertspoon American Mustard
- A pinch of celery salt
- A pinch of paprika
- Salt and pepper.
- A cheese slice
- 1 x Heylo Roll, plus salad and condiment of your choice
Directions
Place your crumbs on a large plate
Add your mayo, mustard, spices and salt and pepper to a wide bowl and then place the chicken in it. Massage and coating the chicken with the mixure
Place the sauced-up chicken into the crumbs and then carefully coat. You can repeat this process for an extra thick, crispy coating if desired (remember — Heylo is super low carb)
To cook, preheat your oven to 200C and place the chicken on a well oiled tray or baking rack. Cook for 20-25 minutes, turning once part way through. Alternatively, this can also be shallow fried in oil and foaming butter.
Serve in your bun with condiments of your choice!
